I'm thrilled to finally have this space to share my passion for writing. I may have spent numerous years helping others to develop their websites and writing their content but I have been neglectful of my own. It is time!
I’m so looking forward to connecting both with readers and with other writers, and in this space I offer a glimpse into my creative journey. I hope that by sharing a lifetime of ‘wanting’ to write and ‘trying’ to write and thinking of myself as anything but a writer and yet publishing articles, poems, stories and books, I can inspire others to drop the self doubt and just do it. Pick up the pen and write!
Who Am I?
For those who are new to me and to my work, I'm Jackie Anderson, an author with a deep love for storytelling. My writing spans various genres, as does my reading, from free verse poetry to short stories, from historical fiction to true crime non fiction. Above all, I'm fascinated by the power of words to transport us to different worlds, evoke emotions, and spark meaningful conversations.

Why I Write
Sometimes I just don’t know how to answer that. Writing is compulsive. I have stories and ideas, and verses and conversations and characters just appearing in my head and the only thing I know what to do with them is write them down. Writing, for me, is more than just a hobby; it's a way of life. It's how I explore my experience and speculate about the experience of others, of humanity as a whole. It is how I work out how the world about me works, and how I dive into the depths of human experience. Through writing, I can challenge assumptions, including my own and it is a way of reaching out and connecting with others on a profound level. I believe in the power of stories to entertain, enlighten, educate and inspire change.
